Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the StoreShare mobile application or website (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

StoreShare is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects people who have spare storage space, items for rent, or appliances for booking with people who need them. We facilitate transactions but are not a party to the agreements between hosts and storers.

3. Accounts

You must create an account and verify your email address to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use StoreShare.

4. Listings and Bookings

Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including descriptions, photographs, and availability. Storers agree to use spaces and items in accordance with the listing terms.

5. Fees and Payments

StoreShare charges a 15% platform fee on each booking, deducted from the host’s payout. All payments are processed securely through our third-party payment provider. Prices are displayed in GBP.

6. Cancellations

Cancellation fees depend on the timing of the cancellation:

• More than 48 hours before start: full refund
• 24 – 48 hours before start: 50% refund
• Less than 24 hours before start: no refund

Hosts who cancel a confirmed booking may incur a penalty and reduced search ranking.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Store prohibited, hazardous, or illegal items
• Misrepresent spaces, items, or personal details
• Circumvent the platform’s payment system
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users

8. Liability

StoreShare is a marketplace platform. We are not responsible for the condition of spaces, the safety of stored items, or the actions of other users. We encourage all users to obtain appropriate insurance for their belongings.

9. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Deletion initiates a 30-day grace period during which you can reactivate your account. After 30 days, your account and personal data are permanently removed.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and materials on the Service are owned by StoreShare or its licensors. User-generated content (listings, reviews) remains owned by the user but is licensed to StoreShare for display on the platform.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
